Gregg Achtenhagen

Cleaver Brooks


Gregg Achtenhagen is currently Senior Manager for Cleaver Brooks Packaged Boiler Division. In his current role he works with engineers and contractors on applications for hydronic and steam boiler plants. He began his career in 1978 working for a consulting engineer. In 1984 he joined Ring & DuChateau, LLP, a regional consulting engineering firm located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served as President from 1993 until his retirement in 2012. During this time he focused on Central plant design for large universities and health care institutions, designing projects in over 20 states. In addition, to his consulting career Gregg taught at HVAC design at the Milwaukee School of Engineering from 1984 until 2000. He is a Past President of the Wisconsin Chapter of ASHRAE. Gregg is a registered P.E. In 14 states and is a LEED AP and Certified GeoExchange Designer.

Presentation Summary

The desire to reduce greenhouse emissions is rapidly increasing among businesses. Decarbonization plays an important role in this effort. In this educational session, attendees will learn ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero, the benefits and challenges of carbon capture, the availability of renewable fuels, and how electric/electrode boilers play a role in decarbonization.
